Australia, fires, and reasons to be proud of being a bruin

Hej igen!

I guess most of you have heard about the wildfires in California. UCLA and its sorroundings haven't been affected, even though one notices that the air quality is rather poor. But most of the American people I know here have friends or relatives who have been evacuated. The situation is crazy...

Anyway, I wanted to let you know that I won't be posting here for 10 days because I'm going to Australia to attend a conference (well, that's the official excuse; you can think of one million extraofficial ones). But I will be back with tons of pictures and (hopefully) stories to tell :-)

Well, I leave you with a funny list of reasons to be proud of being a bruin (that is, a member of the UCLA community). I found it in Facebook; they're meant to be 101 but they only have 94 so far. I like number 3, 22, 23, 33, 38, 41, 51, 54, 73, 77, and especially the last one (94).

101 reasons to be a bruin

By the way, Microsoft is spending $240 million for 1.6 percent stake in Facebook. Well, if you divide 240M by 1.6 and then you multiply it by 100, that means that Facebook is valued at $15 billion. I think it's far too much; I agree that it's becoming HUGE but, won't users migrate to other networks when Microsoft starts introducing ad banners? Time will tell...

Have a good one! Ha det godt! Ha det bra! Happy trails!
