A quick one

Since I arrived here I have learnt that most of the stereotype of American people whe have in Europe is false (as it usually happens with stereotypes). But sometimes you hear stories like this:
- random American: so, where are you from?
- girl: I'm from Belgium.
- rA: What do you mean, the chocolate brand???
It's possible that many European people can't point (say) California on a US map, but I think that most of them at least know it's not just a type of nut...
